Subject: Upcoming Construction of AC Water & Sewer Group 1042 (SS) – Convoy Resurfacing

Dear Property Owner/Resident:

The City of San Diego will begin a project to resurface and repair Convoy Street in your community

within the next month. As part of Mayor Todd Gloria’s ‘Sexy Streets’ initiative, this project includes

overlaying approximately 3.4 paving miles of existing roadway on Convoy Street, from State Route

52 to the intersection with Kearny Mesa Road and Ostrow Street, with asphalt concrete pavement

and making roadway subgrade repairs where needed. The project also includes the removal and

replacement of damaged curbs and gutters, cross gutters and sidewalks, as well as the restriping of

the roads to provide for separated bike lanes that will improve mobility and safety for all modes of

transportation. A location map is included with this notice. The City will provide construction

updates throughout the project on the dedicated project website

Important information regarding this project:

• Project name – AC Water & Sewer Group 1042 (SS) – Convoy Resurfacing

• Construction schedule – Construction will occur in various stages throughout your

community, beginning in the summer of 2023 and ending in the spring of 2024.

• Construction days and hours – Repaving work will take place Monday through Friday, 9 p.m.

to 5 a.m. Day work is anticipated for concrete improvements.

• Construction notices – The City’s contractor will distribute an informational door hanger

approximately five days before construction begins.

• Street parking and access – Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 72 hours

before work begins, where required. Vehicles in violation of signs will be towed. Access to

residences and businesses will be maintained.
